In an interesting development, the venerable Pen Collectors of America (PCA) have thrown open the doors of their online library. All public domain documents in their holdings are now free for all, including pen catalogues, repair manuals, and advertising materials.
While many of these items are available elsewhere online, what is very exciting is that they have also made available the entire backlist of their magazine “The Pennant”, dating back to 1991! This magazine is a treasure trove of pen information.
There was quite a bit of controversy a couple of years ago regarding the ‘leak’ of this information to archive.org, which can be found on our blog at the time. More recently, a vast repository of public domain documents was released—again on archive.org—by David Isaacson.
We applaud the PCA’s efforts to preserve and distribute this information, and encourage all to visit their website.
